  • My primary research interest is the investigation of vowel perception, with a focus on the active role of the listener in perception. I am also interested in how apparent speaker characteristics are perceived and how these might interact with speech perception.

  • My approach is to investigate these topics through perceptual experiments in which behavioral measures are collected, in order to test specific hypothesis regarding vowel perception.

  • I am also interesting in modelling human vowel perception, with a focus on the psychological control structures that organize speech perception in listening situations, and on the integration of multimodal information, and information that is not typically considered central to speech perception.
